How low can I cut the Gladiola leaves? They are mostly dead with brown spots all over them. Iwas told that they got too much water , that was from the rainy peroid we had in April and May. I received early blooms in May and June , they are all dead now, what can I do to insure that they are healthy next spring?

You can cut them all the way down to soil level if they are mostly dead. Brown spots can indicate a disease brought about by wet weather, or could indicate damage from insects called thrips. Bayer Advanced Garden Multi-Insect Killer will control the pests. Be sure to apply according to label directions.
