| We put Casoron down in a newly landscaped yard. There was no barkdust so we assume that the Casoron ran down and killed some of the grass. Now, some of our new plants are dying. How can we neutralize the Casoron. We were told that activated charcoal would help. Will it work? |
| The active ingredient in Casoron is Dichlobenil. The product is a pre-emergent herbicide designed to keep weed seeds from germinating. The effect of this material on non-woody plants is that it inhibits the growth of roots and shoots. Activated charcoal is recommended to neutralize the product if it has been ingested. Thank goodness that's not the case! There's not much that can be done other than to allow the active ingredient to break down naturally and dissipate on its own.
