How often should I hose them off?. Some told me to use Dish soap on them, leave on for 10 minutes and hose them off. Is this safe for the tree?. What you would recommend besides hose them down.

Spider mites thrive in dry, dusty areas which is why they like the center branches of Arborvitae and other evergreens. Hosing the plants off every 3-4 weeks during the summer months is usually enough to discourage spider mites. However, if there is already a population you can control them with Safer 3-in-1 Garden Spray, or GardenSafe Garden Spray. Both are effective against spider mites and safe to use on Arborvitaes and other evergreen shrubs. Be sure to apply according to label directions.
