The Q&A Archives: Pothos

Question: I would like to know if this plant is poisonous to cats or dogs. I believe its spelled Pothos but it may be Pathas. Its a house plant with just green leaves and it's a climber. Tks, Jerrol

Answer: According to the ASPCA, Pothos is toxic to cats and dogs. Chewing the leaves can cause oral irritation, intense burning and irritation of mouth, tongue and lips, excessive drooling, vomiting, difficulty swallowing. I'd keep the pets away from this one!
