My plants are loosing their leaves and the blossoms are falling of. They otherwise appear healthy and up until now have produced well. What's happening?

It isn't unusual for the lowest, oldest leaves to die so as long as your plants ares putting out healthy new top growth, I don't think there's anything wrong. As for the falling blossoms, that's usually a response to temperatures over 90F. As things cool off in the next month or so, your eggplants should be able to develop new fruits.
