The Q&A Archives: Lawn Care

Question: I have a lawn browning problem that appears to be a result of compacted soil. You recommended a lawn aeration procedure to cure the problem. Does Home Depot have a gardening contractor or list of contractors that I might contract with to do this work? Also, when should it be done, now or wait for cooler weather.
Thank You

Answer: Most landscape maintenance companys offer aeration services so you can just contact local landscapers to check their prices. Late summer is a good time to aerate your lawn. You can overseed in the fall and the new grass will have time to establish before the weather changes. Spring is another good time to aerate.
