How do I trim the root system in a potted indoor pot. Roots coming out the bottom???? can I trim roots???

All you need is a sharp kitchen knife to do some root pruning. Unpot the tree and cut two inches off the bottom (cut straight across the bottom) and then cut about an inch off all around the sides. Use fresh potting soil when you repot the plant.
