I bought my true date palm in Ft Smith AR. The associate said it was cold hardy in this area and the pot said cold hardy but the tag did not give a temperature zone or highth.

Your Phoenix sylvestris is hardy to about 25F and will grow 35-40 feet tall. This tree will grow reliably well in USDA gardening zones 9-11. Your zip code places in zone 7 which is colder than the lowest temperature this tree can tolerate. You may want to rethink placing this plant in your landscape.
