The Q&A Archives: shrubs

Question: i bought a boxwood(buxus sinica), i have not planted it yet but the leaves are really dry. the roots ares still very srong and the soil is damp. is my pretty little shrub ok. please tell me it is.

Answer: I hope your boxwood is okay! Boxwood leaves are thin and smooth. If you take a leaf off and snap it in half, it should be white on the inside. If the leaf is brown inside, it means it is dead. Before planting your boxwood, make sure the leaves and stems are still alive. If not you might want to exchange it for a healthier specimen!
