The Q&A Archives: Sick Azalea

Question: All the leaves are covered in a light brown/gold something - back side has black spots. Help

Answer: I can't tell from your description just what the problem might be, but I suspect a fungal disease of some sort. I'd start by pruning off most of the affected leaves to keep the problem from spreading. This will also open your azalea up to better air circulation. Take a sample into your cooperative extension office or well staffed clinic for help with diagnosis. There may be a control you can spray on your azalea. Good luck with your plant!
