I Have a dwarf navel orange tree that developed tall leafless suckers. I cut them off and soon after the tree appears to be dying. Did my overpruning cause the tree to die?

I don't think pruning out non-productive suckers will harm your plant, unless they were the majority of the branches on your tree and pruning them off exposed the tree to more sunshine than it is accustomed to. I'd just water the tree well and give it a chance to recover from the pruning. Hope it perks up soon!
