We just bought a new house the grass was completely dead. We are watering it and it is coming back slowly. Do you suggest that we put something else on the lawn besides just watering it?

It's amazing what a little water will do, isn't it? You can feed your lawn this fall with a "winterizer" fertilizer - one that is low in nitrogen but high in phosphorus and potassium. This will help strengthen the roots of the grass and keep it healthy all winter long. Next spring (March or April) you can feed again, with a 3-1-2 ratio of NPK. As long as you water and mow regularly, your turf should grow healthy and strong and thicken up nicely for you. Enjoy!
