I have two Mandevilles that are about 6 feet tall. They have flowers on the last foot of the vine but are bare with no leave or flowers on the rest of the vine. What do I need to do the get the entire vine to produce?

As you have discovered, mandevillas develop flowers on new growth. You can encourage new growth by pruning your mandevilla back each spring and then pinching out the tips of the stems to encourage additional new growth in mid-summer. This will keep your plant blooming from bottom to top all summer long. Enjoy!
