My old mower left ridges in my lawn when mulching. I bought a a more powerful mulching mower and it also leaves ridges in my lawn. Is there any hope?

It could be that all you need to do is mow a little differently. Although the housing for the blade is wide, the blade itself is shorter than the housing. When you mow a strip and then turn to mow another strip, overlap by a few inches to a third of the width of the blade and you won't leave ridges in your lawn. It also helps to mow at a different angle each time you mow. For instance, mow north to south one time and east to west the next time. Best wishes with your lawn!
