Hello,
Last week you suggested I put a glass bowl over the hole in the ground then come morning since they're not smart enough to dig a new hole they'd attack each other. Well I guess I have

Sorry the bowl trick didn't work. You must have some very sophisticated ground nesting hornets - or there are several colonies at work. In any case, chemical eradication might be your only course of action now. You can use one of the following insecticides to eradicate them: carbaryl (e.g. Sevin) as a dust; chlorpyrifos (e.g. Dursban) as a dust; carbaryl (e.g. Sevin) as a liquid concentrate; or acephate (e.g. Orthene) as a liquid concentrate. Be sure to apply according to label directions. Good luck with your project!
