The Q&A Archives: japanese maple

Question: I have a japanese maple tree which the leaves are red in the spring & then it turns green. What do i do too keep the leaves from turning green. Where it is planted has full sun.

Answer: Your Japanese maple will retain the red coloration if you provide a few hours of morning sun and then shade in the afternoon. If your tree is in a container, you can easily move it. If it is in the ground, you may have to put up with the bleaching of the color of the leaves. Wish there were a better solution!
