Is it advisable to fertilize (Miracle Grow) perennials in the fall?

Fertilizer encourages new growth so you'll want to stop feeding your perennials about the first of September. This will allow them to slow their growth in response to the cooling temperatures and go into dormancy when the weather gets cold. Best wishes with your perennials.
