Veggies for the shade - Knowledgebase Question

I am planning next year vegatable garden space and I have a space that get some shade from a tree, is there vegatable that will grow well in part sun to shade areas?

You can grow leafy vegetables such as spinach, leaf lettuces and Swiss chard in semi-shady areas. Scallions and chives will often grow well in those spots, as well. You can experiment with beans and peas, as well. I'd stay away from tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, squashes and melons in those shady spots. Enjoy your garden!
