I would like to plant a tree next to my house; a swale runs through the area where I would like to plant; can you recommend a tree (Philadelphia suburb) that will grow to a ht of 30-40 ft and a tight circumference? Want to pick the right tree, because the soil is very clay-like, soggy. |
That sounds like a difficult situation, but Armstrong maple (Acer Rubrum) might work. It grows 40' tall and 10' wide and tolerates soggy soils. Curly or contorted willow (Salix Matsudana) grows 30 feet by 20 feet wide. Hope one of these suggestions is helpful. |
