In your mild winter growing region it is possible to keep a tomato plant growing year around but the plant probably won't produce flowers and fruits in December, January or February. I'd wait until March to plant a tomato plant. This way you can enjoy tomatoes all spring, summer and fall. Best wishes with your garden!
