hi, would like to know if i should plant my hibiscus and gardenia plants out side or in pots and bring in house in winter. i live in east tn. and we some times have hard winters. i was told to keep both plants in larger pots and bring in home during cold months.i would like to plant in ground. which is best for these plants. thank you. juanita satterfield,([email protected])

I'm afraid your gardenia and hibiscus are too tender to remain outdoors during the winter months. They make attractive houseplants so you'll either need to keep them in containers and bring them indoors each fall so you can keep them alive, or treat them as annual plants, plant them in the garden, but expect to replace them every spring.
