I do have another question. One seed manufacturer recommends applying fertilizer after planting seeds while another seed manufacturer recommends applying ferilizer before the seed. Does it matter which one is applied first? Thanks.

Seedlings generally cannot use fertilizer until their root systems are established so fertilizing as you plant or just before you plant won't really benefit the seedlings. I'd wait until the plants have 3-4 sets of true leaves and then lightly feed.
