I am growing lemon grass. Can I plant and leave it outdoors all year? I live in Tennessee and we usually have mild winters. |
Your mild winters are not quite mild enough. Even in the Gulf Coast states lemon grass can die from winter freezes in the mid-to-low 20's. I would suggest you divide the clump in fall and pot up a division to bring indoors for winter. Keep the plant in a brightly lit spot. Set it out next spring when temperatures warm up again. With warm temperatures, water and some nutrients it will be up and going in no time! |
