I have a few onions in my garden that I planted last spring. They ae begining to show green tips again. Should I leave them over winter?

I don't know whether you are growing green onions (scallions) or bulb onions. If they are green onions you can allow the foliage to grow and then harvest them before the first frost. If they are bulbing onions the tops will turn yellow and die down which is your indication that the bulbs should be harvested.
