I have potted Dahlias on my front porch steps. They are potted in terra cotta pots. I had a "first bloom" that was gorgeous, however, I haven't been able to get them to bloom again. I pinched them back and then used Miracle-Gro . I have buds but they die as opening.

Sounds as though a fungal disease is attacking the newly formed flower buds on your Dahlias. Place them in the sunniest spot you can find and try not to splash water on the leaves when you water. Pick off any affected buds or leaves as soon as you notice they look sickly. Dahlias thrive in full sunshine when given ample moisture. See if a change of location and watering practices will make a difference in the performance of your plants.
