The Q&A Archives: Dwarf Banana Trees

Question: Re: Plant Tag #THDA8623

I purchased this plant expecting to get some bananas in the future. When I looked up the plant tag # it indicated that this is a specimen tree. Does this mean it will not bear fruit?

Answer: Dwarf banana plants will develop fruit when they mature. The term "specimen plant" simply means it looks nice on its own as a focal point or specimen in your garden or in a container on your patio or in your home. Hope this clarifies things for you!
