Turftype perennial ryegrasses are well-adapted to western Washington and they may be planted alone or mixed with fine leaved fescues and bentgrasses. If you can find a grass seed mixture, the highest percentage should be perennial rye. It will remain mostly green nearly all year around but there may be some browning in the hottest months of the summer. Good luck with your new lawn!
