leyland cypress - Knowledgebase Question

I bought 14 of these from the store in Valdosta GA.
and 13 of them turned brown and died.any ideas

Leyland cypresses are usually easy to transplant and to grow. The only problem might be poorly draining soils which can cause root rot. You might want to dig one up and check the roots. Anything mushy or with an odor will indicate root rot. Or, it might be that they did not receive adequate water. One deep soaking per week is necessary for landscape trees and shrubs. Sorry I can't think of any other reason for them to die.
