The Q&A Archives: Propagating Succulents

Question: How do you propagate a Kalanchoe? Do the stalks just go directly into dirt & root there?

Answer: Cuttings of your Kalanchoe should root easily. Take a stem from the plant and allow it to dry for a few days. (This is very important.) Insert the cut end into moistened potting soil and wait until new growth signals that the cutting has rooted. Water very sparingly or the roots will rot. Most succulents are easy to propagate in this way. Good luck!
