Purple coneflowers (Echinacea purpurea) is perennial; Black Eyed Susan (Rudbeckia) is also perennial so while the tops of the plants will die down this winter, new stems, leaves and flowers will appear next spring. They will also self-sow readily so you won't need to help them along. Enjoy!
