The Q&A Archives: loosing leaves early

Question: Why are my Yashimo Cherry trees loosing leaves so early? Is this the early sign of desease?

Answer: The early leaf loss is more likely due to heat stress than insect or disease problems. But just to make sure, inspect the fallen leaves to see if you can find spots or insects or insect eggs. Lots of people have reported early leaf loss so I am reasonably certain it is heat stress. Good luck with your landscape!
