| The zucchini plant has stopped producing zucchini. But more importantly, The zucchini that we got were soft and were starting to rot. The vines themselves are soft and seems also to be rotting. The leaves are covered with white ashy botches. What could the problem be? thanks |
| Sounds like a classic case of the fungal disease called powdery mildew. It attacks most frequently when days are warm and nights a cool - typical early fall weather. Since it is so late in the growing season, I'd suggest pulling out the plants and starting new next spring. Find the sunniest spot possible for your squashes and plant them as early in the season as possible to ensure you'll have lots of zucchini all summer long. Enjoy your garden! |
