My sweet potatoe vine has made very large potatoes.
Are they edible? Will the plant survive all year if maintained in the house? Thank you.

You can grow a sweet potato vine indoors if you can provide bright light and a warm place. Lots of people train them to grow up a windowsill, across the top, and down the other side. Or you can simply store the tuber in a cool, dark place (above freezing) and replant it next spring. As for the potatoes, you could eat them, but they aren't very tasty! Edible sweet potatoes have been bred for flavor....but not the ornamental varieties. I've heard they taste like "dirt". Let us know!
