Question: I have cleared my garden and begun to get my beds ready for planting. I have actually planted my veggie garden, but the seeds haven't shown up yet. What are your tips for growing from seed outside. I live in Vancouver, BC Canada which is in the samezone as Seattle.

Answer: Some tips on sowing direct : Stick to large seed. Sow thickly and thin well. Cover seed well. 4 x diameter of seed. Water regularly (2-3 times a day) until germination. Sow at the appropriate time for your area. Check with your University/CountyCooperative Extension agent (or Canadian parallel).
