| We used well water to keep our lawn green, and our flower beds moist during the dry, hot summer in Corpus Christi, TX. Will gypsum neutralize the salt build up in our soil? The Well water is 120 ppm salt. The heat was 98 or above for 60 days at least. |
| In general, turfgrasses are quite tolerant of high sodium water because it is usually is mowed frequently enough to prevent toxic levels of salts from accumulating in the soil. Unless your plants are exhibiting signs of calcium deficiency (burned leaf tips), I don't think I would apply lime. The rains should help leach out salts this fall and winter. |
