There are a number of fungal diseases that cause tomato plants to die but you didn't give us many clues as to the symptoms, so it's difficult to diagnose the problem you're having with your plants. In general, tomatoes need loose, loamy soil, lots of sunshine and deep but infrequent watering. When you water, keep the water off the foliage and you'll have fewer disease problems. And, if you choose tomato varieties that are labeled disease resistant, you should have a lot fewer problems.
