The Q&A Archives: Transplanting Crepe Myrtles

Question: I would like to transplant a few

Answer: Now is a good time to dig and transplant the suckering growth. Cut down into the soil between the parent plant and the suckers to sever the root from the tree. The suckers will have their own small roots attached to, but also growing beneath, the parent root. Plant them at the same soil depth as they were growing before. They should settle in over the fall and winter months and be ready to grow in the spring.
