| I have a tropical hibiscus on my deck. It has a sandy, gritty material all over the buds and flowers . Do you know why and if it is a bad thing? Thank you. |
| If the material is only on the flowers and flower buds it's probably an insect infestation. My guess would be thrips or aphids. Try examining the buds with a magnifying glass to see if you can determine what they are. Insecticidal soap applications should take care of the pests. |
