| It is highly improbable that aphids would survive on a plant stand after it has been cleaned. These soft bodied insects can fly and once the plants are gone, they will leave the area. Scale insects are a different story - they can hide in the crevices between the parts, but aphids most likely would leave or be killed by soapy water. |
