What vegetables can I plant from seed now that I will be able to harvest into the Fall?

Cool season vegetables, such as carrots, peas, greens, broccoli, cabbage, beets, swiss chard, and turnips, can be planted now for a fall harvest. The limiting factor is soil temperature since some of these crops prefer to be sown in cool soil. I would soak the pea seeds to aid germination and shade all the crops with shade netting, if possible, for the first three weeks or so. Good luck!
