I have a pup from my sons garden sawed off clean- its still hot in my area North of N. O., will the transplant work?

You can plant the pup now and if you provide some temporary shade from the hot sunshine it should establish well. I'd place a couple of stakes in the ground and attach some burlap or other fabric to the stakes to shade it from direct sunshine until the weather cools a little. Hope it roots well in your garden.
