Grass seed can take 4=6 weeks to establish. If you plant now it should have enough time to grow a healthy root system before your first project frost (mid- to the end of October is when your first frost generally arrives). Or, you can wait until spring to seed your lawn and it will have all season to grow. Hope this helps you decide when to plant!
