The Q&A Archives: pruning

Question: when should fringe trees be pruned?

Answer: Fringe trees should be pruned immediate after they have finished flowering. If you prune now you'll be pruning off some of next spring's flowers. If that isn't important to you, go ahead and prune now. If flowering is important, wait until after the flowers are spent next year.
