I planted my eastern redbud today in Oxford, MS. How often should I water it. Thanks. Lisa Rogers

Also, is it safe to move crepe myrtles right now?

You can dig and transplant your crepe myrtles now. They will settle in and by next spring they will be ready to grow and bloom. Most newly planted landscape trees and shrubs need about an inch of water per week. You can build a watering well or basin beneath your new redbud to help with the watering. Fill the basin, allow to drain, then fill it a second time. Watering in this way will concentrate the moisture directly over the rootmass and allow it to trickle down, wetting the rootball. Once a week should do it. Best wishes with your new redbud.
