I have a house plant made up of bromeliads. The tips of some of the leaves have turned brown
and dried up. Is this normal? Should I cut them
off?

Brown leaf tips on bromeliads indicate a water stress issue. Either they are kept too dry or the air around them is too dry - or you are using tap water rather than distilled or bottled water. Try placing your bromeliad containers on a gravel filled tray in which you keep a half inch of water. As the water evaporates it will increase humidity around the plants. Or, you can mist the plants on a daily basis. Be sure to use distilled water for your plants.
