Our redtip shrubs have some sort of problem with their leaves. The leaves are getting spots and falling off. How can I help them to feel better?

Fraser photinia (Redtips) can be very susceptible to leaf spot which can kill the plants. This is a fungal disorder which enters the plant through young leaves, luckily, mature leaves are resistant. Prune off and destroy all affected leaves/branches. When the new red growth appears, spray with a fungicide. Apply per package directions until the foliage has matured. Be sure to spray ALL new leaves as they appear. Consider also that there is a variety of redtip resistant to this problem called 'Red Robin'.
