| I have a slip from a rose bush that is at least 40 years old. I neglected it all these years, and it had to be transplanted in the spring, into a large pot. It is scraggly, but living and blooming. I don't want it to die over the winter. I do not know what kind it is, how to prune it, nor what to do over winter. Can I send you a couple photos? |
| Our question and answer forum isn't set up to accept photos - sorry. There's not much you need to do for your rose at the moment. In the spring you can prune it back and put it on a regular feeding and watering schedule. If it is a shrub rose you can prune it down to about 24" and new growth will emerge from the canes.
