The Q&A Archives: Worm eating apple tree leaves

Question: I found 12 worms eating my leaves on our apple tree. The worms have a red head and red stripe and are green with yellow orange color. What should I spray to kill them? Thanks, Marcia

Answer: I can't identify the caterpillars by your description but the botanical Bt (bacillus thuringensis) sold as Dipel or Thuricide effectively controls caterpillars without harming beneficial insects. Use according to label directions. Best wishes with your apple tree.
