I have mint (chocolate and spearmint) in containers outside. They have gone to seed. I live in Southern Maine and I would like to bring the mint inside for the winter. Can I do that and how should I do it? The flowering part is still on the plant.

Thank you,
Julie

I'm not sure your mints will grow well indoors for you but you can certainly try. They need bright light - grolites are best, kept on 14 hours a day. Failing that, try to find a sunny windowsill. Prune off the flowers and cut the plant back to encourage new growth. Hope you're successful!
