The Q&A Archives: Black Leaves?

Question: What could be happening to my plants if they're outside, the leaves turn black, then dry (brown)? Is this a fungus? How do I treat it?

Answer: Black leaves certainly sounds like a fungus but I don't know what kind because different plants are susceptible to different kinds of diseases. I would prune off the affected foliage. This will also open up the plants to better air circulation which will help them avoid fungus in the future. Best wishes with your garden!
